Brush Pick-up Begins

 The city-wide brush pickup program will begin Monday, April 28, 2008. Residents who would like their brush picked up should place brush near, but not beyond the curb.  In order to maintain the cleanliness of our city, residents are asked to not place any brush at the curb more than one week prior to the scheduled pickup date. 

Tree limbs and bagged yard clippings/leaves will be picked up during this collection.  Yard clippings/leaves must be in plastic bags.  It should be noted that bagged leaves and yard trash is collected with the regularly scheduled refuse collection throughout the year.

Residents are advised that there is a limit of one-truck load of material per residence.  A one-truck load limit is defined as one pickup truck or approximately 3' high x 4' wide x 8' long, approximately 100 cubic feet maximum.  Brush and limbs are to be placed in a pile separate from other materials.  All limbs should be placed with the butt end near the street.  Limb diameter should be no larger than three inches at any point.  Crews will not pick up piles that have brush or limbs mixed with rubbish or trash. Residents are required to keep all materials off sidewalks, parking areas and out of gutters for the safety of pedestrians and motorists.

City collection efforts will follow the accompanying schedule as close as possible.  The actual pickup day may change depending on the weather and the amount of participation by residents.  However, residents are required to have all their materials in place no later than 7:30 a.m. on their scheduled pickup day to ensure pickup.  Any materials put out after 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled pickup date may not be picked up.
