The Oak Ridge Public Library serves a community of 27,387.  Oak Ridge is located 17 miles northwest of Knoxville, in East Tennessee, between the Cumberland and the Great Smoky Mountains.  Founded as a secret federal government project during World War II, our city continues to preserve and define a tradition rich with scientific and educational excellence.
