VOLUNTEER AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY!

                    When?

                     Weekdays (all tasks)

                     Evenings and Weekends (Adopt-a-shelf only)

 

                     How Often?

                     1 or 2 hour shifts, usually once a week, but may vary as needed

 

              Doing What?

                     Shelving books

                     Checking and shelving audio-visual materials

                     Adopt-a-Shelf (straightening shelves)

                     Helping process new materials

                     Assisting in the Oak Ridge Room

                     And lots more

 

             Why?

                            The volunteer program benefits you and the library by helping to keep the library materials flowing

                         from shelf to patron and back. The volunteers who work 20 hours or more in one calendar year

                             (Jan.-Dec.) get these privileges during the following calendar year:

                          * No overdue fines, except for overdue videos.

                        * Free Reserves. 

                         * No postage charges on Interlibrary Loans.

                         * Free videocassette circulation.
