SERVICE TO SENIORS
The Library offers a special outreach service in our community: delivering books to the senior resident homes in Oak Ridge. A pilot program was done in 1993 which developed into a regular outreach program of the Library. The purpose of our visits is to provide recreational reading materials to the six resident senior facilities in Oak Ridge. In general, the Library supplies only large print books, or a combination of large print and regular. In a year's time approximately 1,200 books are circulated to the six residences bringing library materials to over 6,000 people every year..
