Oak Ridge Public Library Stained Glass Window Project Designed and Installed by State of the Art, Inc., Stained Glass Studio, Knoxville, TN The Lifetime of Reading Stained Glass Project, placed in the 18 clerestory windows, are an exciting addition to the Library. The windows illustrate the pleasure derived from books and reading over a lifetime. Many windows depict scenery familiar to those in Oak Ridge and East Tennessee. Each window cost $4,989.00. The Friends of the Library offered their non-profit status as a way to make this expenditure tax deductible. A large plaque will be engraved with the information about the project and all donors, and will be installed near the Library’s Information Desk. There
was NO CITY MONEY used in this project.
All costs incurred were covered in the price of the windows. The
stained glass windows make a wonderful, lasting contribution to the
community and are destined to become a treasure in the years to come. Stained
