Come inside! Get warm and enjoy our music!

December is music month at the Oak Ridge Public Library! We have three exciting events for the public.

First, come and hear the varied sweet and toe tapping tunes of the “Tuesday Dulcimer Group” (a subset of the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club) on December 1, 2009 at 1:30. The group is composed of longtime local players who have graced the Museum of Appalachia and other sites.

Our second program is at 4:30 on December 2nd. Come and listen to the prestigious and highly select Webb Chamber Singers, directed by Ms. LeAnne Johnson. They will give an a cappella concert of holiday music. They compete nationally and often perform out of state.

The 3rd performance will be by the Oak Ridge High School Madrigal Group on December 10th at 12:10. Their director, Ms. Amanda Ragan, has taught at Oak Ridge High School for the past 11 years. Her choirs consistently earn superior ratings at local, state, and national competitions.

All performances will take place in the library lobby. Don’t miss this varied and exciting holiday treat! Come inside. Get warm and enjoy our music! For additional information, call the library at (865) 425-3455 or email GiGi Bayne at gbayne@cortn.org.
