PROJECT OWNERSHIP MAPS

In late 1942 and 1943 the government acquired land in East Tennessee, including the communities of Robertsville, Elza and Scarboro in Anderson County and Wheat in Roane County. This area, now know as Oak Ridge, was the site used by the Manhattan Project to build uranium-235 enrichment facilities and housing for the workers. The Oak Ridge Public Library now has maps showing the property ownership of the land acquired. The table below lists the parcels with keys to the maps and other information.
