1000 Block W Outer Dr

This neighborhood watch group includes several streets on the deep west end of Oak Ridge and also several streets from the Whippoorwill Dr area.

Kerry Trammell contacted Chief Beams regarding some suspicious activity and thefts that had been occurring in his neighborhood. Officer Newman and Mr. Trammell met in person and formulated plans to have a start up meeting. The first meeting was held at the Oak Ridge Municipal Building Court Room. Numerous persons attended and showed a strong interest in being involved.

The residents discussed areas of improvement that they could make in the neighborhood and began getting involved by taking evening walks. They started paying more attention to their surroundings. In doing so, many of the residents have began calling in suspicious activities. It is unknown how many crimes have been prevented due to their diligent efforts.

In general, this area has less problems than others through out the city. They meet less frequently, but are just as effective.
