Wadsworth Cir Area

This area includes the following streets: Wadsworth Cir, Wadsworth Pl, Wakeman Ln, and Wakefield Rd, and Wainwright Rd.

Officer Newman had known 2 of the residents prior to the formation of the Neighborhood Watch group. Abbie and Bill Moore and Karen Buckley had all been a part of the Highland View Neighborhood Association for several years. The neighborhood watch group was actually started by Aaron Johnson who lives on Wadsworth Pl.

Although this is a large area, there is a core group of 10 -15 residents that make this neighborhood watch strong. These individuals are spread out through the area, but are willing to call the police when needed. This area had five major drug houses. The group met several times at the Children's Museum. As they learned what to look for and began reporting suspicious activity, the drug houses began to close up shop. On one incident, the neighbors called when there was a large number of individuals were at a known drug house for a noise violation. In doing so, the police had the opportunity to identify the persons inside. It was learned that several of the individuals were wanted on outstanding warrants. Shortly thereafter, the tenant was evicted.

This neighborhood watch group continued to work at getting rid of the problems. They successfully eliminated the 5 drug houses within a few months and have managed to keep the neighborhood quiet.

The neighborhood watch group has been active with meetings and having clean ups / cook outs.
