Summer ORCA (Oak Ridge City Aquatics) is a summer swim team for children ages 5-18. Swimmers must be able to swim 100 yards unassisted to participate. A swim test will be given the first day. The fee is $100.00 per swimmer and a non-resident fee of $10.00 if applicable. Swimmers will participate in workout sessions Monday - Friday from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at the outdoor pool. Swimmers will also participate in GKAISA league swim meets with dates and times TBA. Swimmers must have a signed release and fees paid to participate. For further information call the Recreation and Parks Department at 425-3450. The packet of forms below may be printed, filled out, and returned with applicable fees beginning Monday, May 5th.
The Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department offers American Red Cross swimming classes through out the year as pool time and staffing permit. Participants must be between the ages of 4 - 18 years old. These classes are for swimmers in levels 1-6. To find out more information about requirements for various swimming levels check out our Level Placement Guide. Registration is at the Civic Center Front Desk as well as online. The cost is $50 for 8 thirty minute sessions. Classes are held four days a week for 2 weeks. There will be no make-up classes if cancelled for weather related reasons. There is also a once per year $10 non-resident fee for children who live outside of Oak Ridge.
Walk in registration will begin on May 5th at the Civic Center Front desk and will continue until all spaces are filled.
