The Civic Center Summer Camp is for ages 6 - 12 years old. All camp activities take place at the Civic Center, 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike, and in Bissell Park except for the field trips and visits to the outdoor swimming pool. Camp activities include a variety of games such as capture the flag, kickball, basketball, and many more. A craft option is offered on most days through out the week. In the afternoons children will choose between swimming at the outdoor pool or playing games at the Civic Center. Movies are sometimes shown on rainy days. Field trips such as The Lost Sea, The Knoxville Zoo, etc. are planned throughout the summer. Special events such as the Water Carnival, Story Tellers, Puppeteers, and other activities are also planned weekly. Below are links to our summer itinerary to our Summer Camp Policies and procedures.
Camp Policies and Procedures 2009
Camp begins the week of June 8th and continues for 8 consecutive weeks ending on July 31st. The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 5:30 p.m.
The fee is $80 per week of Camp. There is also a $10 once per summer non resident fee if the child lives outside of the City of Oak Ridge. This fee includes all activities and field trips unless otherwise noted. There will be an opportunity for campers of all ages to register for swim lessons for an additional $55 fee.
*NOTE* All Payments for online registration must be received no later than Friday, May 22nd.

Walk in registration will begin on May 27th at the Civic Center at 8:00 a.m. Registration will not be accepted at the Civic Center until this date. Below are the Summer Camp polices form and application form. Please print these and have the application form ready to turn in at registration along with payment for faster service. Checks can be made payable to the City of Oak Ridge.
