The Oak Ridge Outdoor Swimming Pool is located at 172 Providence Road. Originally constructed in 1944 by the Corps of Engineers, the pool underwent major renovation in 1992-1993 and reopened for the 1994 summer season. The renovation included state-of-the-art equipment. The pool is spring water fed and considered one of the largest in the nation. Depths range from zero to 13-1/2 feet. It opens each summer during the first part of June and closes in mid-August. There are 25- and 100-meter courses, an offshore island, and a large grassed beach area. Food and float rental concessions are also available.

10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The last day of the 2008 outdoor pool season is August 17th.

| The outdoor pool is available for private party rental on most evenings during our summer operational period. Parties are scheduled to begin 1/2 an hour after the daily closing time and last for a two hour time period. There are 7 lifeguards on duty and you may have up to 200 people in the pool area. The cost for the rental is $250. Food and drinks are not allowed in the pool area. Call the (865) 425-3450 to check on availability and/or to reserve a time. |
Rental for group usage on a recurring basis is available at the pool.
Classification is determined by primary usage. Users will be classified as follows for the purpose of determining rental rates:

At the outdoor pool during this period, swimmers must swim laps. Several lanes are available on the 100 meter course. Lap swim is available Monday - Friday from Noon until 1 p.m. each day.
Public Swim at the outdoor pool is a great time to bring children to swim, play, and have lots of fun. There are two diving boards available for use as well as a zero depth area that makes entry into the pool easily accessible to all ages. Children must be at least 12 years old to be at the pool with out direct adult supervision.
