Parks Maintenance Worker
The City of Oak Ridge (cortn.org) will
accept applications for the position of Parks Maintenance Worker in the
Recreation Department through Friday, February 22, 2008. Applicants should have a High School Diploma
or GED with two years experience performing manual labor such as landscaping
and/or construction. Principle
duties include: landscaping,
grounds maintenance, operation and maintenance of grounds equipment, hand and
power tools, City vehicles and heavy equipment. Applicant must possess the ability to follow oral and
written instructions, communicate effectively, and work well with fellow
employees. Applicant must
consistently use safe work practices as defined by OSHA, TOSHA, City policies
and departmental policies. Must
possess a valid TN driver’s license with a good driving record. Commercial
Driver’s License is a plus and may be required in the future. Salary range is $ 11.93 to $ 14.91 per
hour with excellent fringe benefits.

SCHOOL
CROSSING GUARD
The City
of Oak Ridge (cortn.org) is accepting applications for School Crossing
Guard. This is an ideal position for students, homemakers and/or retirees to
make extra spending money. Primary job responsibility is to be stationed at
critical areas in the school vicinity to ensure safe crossing for school
children. Applicants must be responsible adults at least age 18 and must be
able to arrange their personal schedules so that they can work for one hour in
the morning and one hour in the afternoon on school days. Applicants must be able to work
effectively with children and the general public and must be willing to attend
the required training before beginning work. Duties are performed in all types
of weather conditions. Normal
starting salary is $ 8.90 to $ 11.00 per hour. Successful applicants will be
subject to background investigation and drug screening. Applications are

Municipal Building.
SUMMER
RECREATION POSITIONS
Recreation
Leaders and Lifeguards
The City of Oak Ridge is
accepting applications for Summer Camp and Swimming Pool positions for
2008. All applicants must be at
least age 16. The minimum salary
will be at least $8.07 per hour for recreation leaders and $8.90 for
lifeguards. All applicants are
subject to drug screening, background investigation and driver license
check. Applications are available
in the Personnel Department in the Municipal Building, between 8:00 a.m. and
5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applications received by Friday, March 7,
2008 will be reviewed and considered for summer 2008 openings before those
received after that date.
