SCAM ALERT!!
The following scam is being perpetrated here in Oak Ridge.
Someone stating they are a representative with the City of Oak Ridge Business Office calls to inform you that your account is 30 days past due and services will be disconnected unless a minimum payment of $50 is received. They go on to offer to come by your home to collect the money to ensure you aren’t cutoff.
This unsolicited call is likely to come from a blocked number.
If you receive an unsolicited call as described above, please report it to us at 425-3400. Do not give money to anyone showing up to collect from you as a result of an unsolicited call.
