(425-1807)
This notice is to advise affected motorist of significant
traffic control changes on the State Route 95 (Oak Ridge Turnpike) roadway
construction project from State Route 62 (Illinois Avenue) to near Westover
Drive, an approximately 4.2 mile roadway section. Weather permitting, effective June 2, 2008, the existing four
traffic lanes will be reduced to two lanes of travel (one lane in each
direction). The public will be
permitted to travel in the two inside traffic lanes. A double yellow line will separate Eastbound and Westbound
traffic. Orange traffic barrels will
separate the permissible travel lanes from the outside lanes that will be
prohibited to public use. This change
is necessary for construction work to continue on both sides of the
roadway. This change will be in effect
until the end of the construction project, estimated near July 2010. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution
while traveling within the project limits and to travel at or below the posted
35 mph speed limit.
Additional information may be obtained by calling the City
Engineer at 425-1807.
